If you're obsessed with sweating it out to a Peloton workout, you can now sweat while wearing some cool new Peloton merch. And not just any new merch: the fitness platform has teamed up with Adidas to launch a collection of performance workout clothes and lifestyle pieces for rest days (aka Netflix marathons).
What's even cooler? The collection was designed by three of Peloton's top instructors: Robin Arzón, Cody Rigsby, and Ally Love. The instructors brought their signature personalities to the pieces, and the collection draws inspiration from the '90s - popular playlists in Peloton workouts - with neon pink hues, splatter prints, and patterns that draw inspiration from composition notebooks. The styles come in men's, women's, and unisex, and range in sizes from XS to 2X. Adidas and Peloton wanted to make sure they were serving their loyal communities, which have only grown over the last year during the pandemic.
"One of the things that's a priority for both companies and especially my fellow instructors is being able to cultivate community, knowing what it means to not only want to feel good functionally in workout apparel, but also want to look good," Love, who is not only a Peloton instructor but also an Adidas ambassador, told POPSUGAR. "And so finding that true intersection or that sweet spot between style and functionality, knowing that our community is so diverse and lean into that concept was truly the inspiration."
And while there are plenty of black and navy pieces in the collection, Love wants people to get comfortable breaking out of their comfort zones and wearing color. "We want this to be bold. We want to tell and speak the truth of who we are. We want to stand out amongst our community," she said. "We don't want you to fall into feeling comfortable in just always wearing black. We want you to dare and dream bigger and be bolder. And so we wanted that to show up in this collection."
It's apparent that the clothes were designed by the instructors who are known just as much for their personalities as their ass-kicking workouts. This shows up in how they motivate their community, the anecdotes they sprinkle throughout class, and, probably most importantly, their music. Love said she has three genres that are her favorite to teach to: pop, hip-hop, and country. "I would have never thought in a million years that I would love country," Love said. "But once I got introduced to fellow instructors at Peloton, I was like, 'Hold up, country is pretty dope. There's a vibe here I need to explore.'"
