Kelly Augustine on What It Took to Style Danielle Brooks's Internet-Breaking Engagement Shoot

Danielle Brooks needed the assistance of the industry's best and brightest to turn her engagement photoshoot with Dennis Gelin into an unforgettable production. Luckily, she had her trusty team's help, including the support of longtime stylist Kelly Augustine. You can thank Kelly for the unbelievable outfits Danielle showed off for the sexy shoot, from beaded bustiers to gorgeous red carpet-worthy gowns.

Kelly told POPSUGAR she felt "humbled" when Danielle asked her to be a part of the styling for her engagement photos. "It's one thing to style for press and editorial, but to style for a wedding is so intimate and personal. You have to really trust someone." Danielle trusted Kelly's vision for the shoot wholeheartedly and had the stylist take the reigns. They coordinated with photographer Kareem Virgo on locations and the wedding color palette, but one factor mattered above all else: "[Danielle] just wanted to look hot!" Mission accomplished.

The actress wore several spectacular looks for her and Dennis's engagement shoot, and Kelly can't choose a favorite. How could you, when the options include a jaw-dropping hand-beaded corset by Edwin Reyes with over 8,000 hand-beaded pearls, an elegant custom brown gown from Nneka of Brides by Nona, and custom "something blue" suits from Ilbert Sanchez of Garcon Couture.

Kelly said she can see comparisons to On the Run Part II and Queen & Slim, but the photoshoot's true inspiration is partnership. "I think, in general, the idea of marriage is really just you and your partner against the world," she explained. "So we tapped into that energy and applied it specifically to Danielle and Dennis' personalities." Like most brides, Danielle is keeping her wedding look under wraps until the big day but Kelly will definitely be with her. "The only thing I can say is to expect her to look FABULOUS!" We wouldn't expect anything less.
