Megan Thee Stallion Has Been Cleared to Release BTS "Butter" Remix, and We're Ready

BTS's "Butter" is about to get even better thanks to Megan Thee Stallion's upcoming remix with the band. Following a legal battle with her label, the 26-year-old rapper has been cleared to release her remix of the song on Friday. According to court documents filed on Tuesday, Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, submitted a petition against her record label 1501 Certified Entertainment and its CEO Carl Crawford, alleging they were preventing her from releasing the song.

"If Pete is not allowed to release a new track this Friday on which she is the featured artist in a remix with BTS of the song called, 'Butter,' her music career will suffer irreparable damage, including a devastating impact to her relationships with her fans and with other recording artists in the music industry," the document stated. "Such irreparable injury to her personal goodwill and the silencing of her artistic expression in music cannot be compensated in the way of monetary damages. As such, Pete seeks emergency relief from this Court."

Megan previously sued 1501 in March 2020 for allegedly preventing her from releasing her EP Suga. She was eventually granted a temporary restraining order, which she asked to be extended or supplemented with a new restraining order in the new court filing. A new hearing on Megan's restraining order has now been set for Sept. 10. You can hear the new track when it drops on Friday.
